Where to Go For Donations, Help and Information


Carlisle
The Carlisle Fire Department Auxiliary is providing much needed support to Schoharie Valley volunteers. We are requestion donations of items, listed below or cash, checks, or gift cards to WalMart, Price Chopper, or BJs.
Checks can be mailed to the Carlisle Fire Department on Route 20. Donations are being accepted daily from 9-11am; 2-4pm; and 6-8pm. You can also call the fire department at those times tocoordinate a better time for you. (518) 234-2134

Cobleskill
Dawn Schell is a licensed NYS registered DayCare Provider here in Cobleskill. Dawn will be opening her home on Saturday September 3 and Monday September 5 from 10am to 6pm for any family that would like to help their neighbors and friends to help with clean up for flooded areas. She is providing these services free of charge and meals as well. For more information call her at 518-234-7145.

SUNY Cobleskill will be mobilizing teams of 8-10 students to engage in flood clean-up projects. These can include private residences, businesses and municipalities. Contact:

Agway in Cobleskill is accepting food donations for horses and other animals

Golding is currently no longer accepting clothing and toy donations. They are set up as a shelter- please check their website for most up to date information for donation locations at www.crcs.k12.ny.us

New clothing and toys can be dropped off at Movie Gallery, 813 East Main Street, Cobleskill.

Used clothing can be dropped off at Stella Motors, Unit 52, 142 MacArthur Avenue, Cobleskill.

Cash and Can donations can be brought to Snyders Redemption Warehouse, at 141 MacArthur Ave., Cobleskill. All donations will be sent to SCCAP sccapinc.org

Polka Dots, Granite Drive, Cobleskill and Guilderland is accepting donations. For information please call LeAnn Bradt at 231-9482 or Cori Jaycox-Bissonette 605-0122 For LARGE furniture donations, please call ahead so they can accommodate

SCCAP (Schoharie County Community Action Program) is accepting all new items that a person needs including housewears, food, clothing etc. Any items going to SCCAP can be dropped off next to Dollar General in the old movie/video rental store.
SCCAP also has set up a separate account for monetary donations. SCCAP will accept cash and check, not credit cards. Put in memo "flood victims" Made out to SCCAP. And the address 795 East Main Street,Suite 5 Cobleskill, NY 12043. You can visit their website at sccapinc.org

Head Start on Lark Street is accepting all new as well as used items that a person needs including housewears, food, clothing etc.

Tim Purcell from Grapevine Farms is looking for volunteers to help feed volunteer workers at the Cobleskill Fairgrounds in the Progress Land building. The shifts are 7:00 am (breakfast), Noon (lunch) and 7:00 pm. Call Tim at 518-605-3271 to sign-up

The Quiltbug shop in Esperance is accepting donations for the Golding Shelter.

Esperance Elks Lodge 2507, 111 Main Street, Esperance, NY 12066, is accepting donations for displaced families. 

Duanesburg
HOT SHOWERS at the Duanesburg Community Center

Fultonville
Kirsten Larsen Fredericks (send message on Facebook) has a small family farm/homestead in Fultonville. If someone is in need of a free temporary place to board a few farm animals, they have available barn space and pasture.

Grand George
The Grand Gorge F.D. ( At Route 30 Grand Gorge, NY 12434 - 607 588-7547) is in need of the following: pressure washers, lead cord, push brooms(stiff), shovels (square) box fans, exhause fans, battery tools, tarps for roofs, ropes, bunges, clear plastic sheets, duct tape, batteries 9 volt/D/AA, 10 x 10 pop tents generators, flashlights, plywood, 2x4's, nails 10's-16's, BBQ Grills...

Middleburgh
United Methodist Church is taking donations.

To volunteer in the town of Middleburgh, go to the Municipal building.

*** Please know that the Army and Air Nation guard are giving out free bottled water, meals, and information on FEMA in Middleburgh at the elementary school***

Richmondville
All branches of Bank of Richmondville are accepting checks for donations. In the memo section of the check write " hurricane relief "

There will be a benefit concert to benefit Schoharie County flood victims at the Old Bunn Mill in Richmondville at 6:30pm Sunday Sept 4th for those who can help as well as those in need.

Schoharie

There is a donation drop-off/pick-up site located at the County Annex bldg. on 30A in Schoharie (behind MobilMart/across from Dunkin'). We will accept anything that is new, gently used and clean !! If people in need cannot get to us, we will take to them. Call Melodie at 231-2360

Morning Star learning center is next to dunkin donuts and office of the aging, is accepting donations.

Guernsey's nursery is looking for volunteers today! There will be free brooks bbq at the school at noon for those volunteering. Show up to Bridge St in Schoharie after 10 today

Sharon Springs

Sharon Springs Farmers Market will be hosting an exchange table from 9am to 2pm Saturday Sept 3rd. if you are needing things that the shelters are not providing or have things to donate please come by there.

Sloansville
Smiths Collision, in Sloansville, huge red garage right on RT 20 is accepting all types of donations, you don't need to call, just walk right in. For more information call Cori Jaycox-Bissonette 605-0122

For Pets/Animal Help
For pet/animal housing/needs please contact 518-231-2718

Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley- If you need assistance with your animals or you know someone who needs help, please call the shelter. They can assist with temporary housing for these animals at the shelter with the help of the ASPCA. PetSmart delivered supplies to the shelter this morning to care for them also. Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church will be making lunch for anybody who wants or needs a meal. They will be doing this every day until we feel it's no longer necessary. Magic Girls and Boys Basketball Club will sponsor the lunch tomorrow. The MCS Booster Club will be sponsoring lunch on Saturday.


Cheer Dome will be serving breakfast in Middleburgh and Schoharie  at the NBT branches. They will be delivering and serving all weekend. Donations of no perishable breakfast items are being accepted. 

Tide Loads of Hope and Duracell are coming to Cobleskill Wal-mart parking lot 138 Merchant Place, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
