If you know of anyone with clothing needs, please email Carlisle Fire Dept genders, sizes, ages, etc. and any other pertinent information. We will DELIVER the clothing to the family that needs it. They can come pick it out themselves or we will assemble wardrobes and deliver it to them. Please include contact information that would make delivery possible. To help members affected by recent storm damage, SEFCU is offering two new loan options.
Post-Irene Disaster Loan up to $2,500
If the damage to your property was minimal and your insurance covered most of the damage, with this loan you can borrow up to $2,500 for up to 24 months at a rate as low as 3% APR*. To be eligible you must provide your FEMA eligibility letter prior to loan closing.
Post-Irene Disaster Loan up to $40,000
If your financial needs are greater, SEFCU is offering another loan with a maximum borrowing limit of $40,000 with terms up to 60 months at a rate as low as 4% APR**. Borrowers must provide their FEMA eligibility letter prior to loan closing to be eligible.
DEC will be allowing folks to go in and have their creekbeds "fixed" in order to prevent further damage to their property. While state most likely won't reimbursh you if you do this, FEMA may. A local non-profit - Fields of Grace - is running a disaster relief program "Rooms of Hope" 100% of donations will be used toward rebuilding an entire room in homes of disaster struck families. All donations are appreciated but for perspective: $150 can sheetrock a standard room. $300 can sheetrock/insulate. $750 can sheetrock/insulate/carpet and additional funds beyond that can provide furniture such as a bed, dinning table, refrigerator, or toy chest. http://fieldsofgraceoutreach.org/home
